Consul General Liu Jian and Education Consular Yuan Dong from the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles visited the University of Arizona

Consul General Liu, Jian and Education Consular Yuan, Dong from the Consulate General of People’s  Republic of China in Los Angeles (CGPRCLA) visited the University of Arizona (UA) from June 29 to June 30, 2014. They met with leaders from the Confucius Institute at the University of Arizona (CIUA) and with Chinese professors from the UA.

Consul General Liu, Jian expressed strong support for the CIUA to focus on becoming a model institute with an emphasis on Chinese Medicine when he met with UA Vice President for Global Initiatives Mr. Michael Proctor.  

Consul General Liu described China - US diplomatic relations as, "35 years of relations that have made various fields progress dramatically. From student exchange and emphasizing cooperative education to communication research and academic collaboration will all help build a bridge of friendship between the two countries and become effective for continuing Chinese - US cultural exchanges."

Consul General Liu also introduced the CGPRCLA. This visit by Consul General Liu and his associates has strengthened the links and communications between UA and CGPRCLA. The Consulate General is happy and willing to provide all possible support and assistance to the education and culture exchange between UA and Chinese partner universities.
