TUCSON – The Fred Fox School of Music (FFSOM) and the Confucius Institute at the University of Arizona (CIUA) are jointly presenting a special Chinese concert, “Music from the Silk Road,” featuring CIUA musicians Maoxun Ma (erhu), Jing Xia (guzheng) and FFSOM graduate students of Yujia Luo (erhu), Shiqi Gu (piano), Tiecheng Shen (viola), Jing Yuan (cello), Bin Hu (guitar), Andrew Morales (percussion), Joshua Hall (oboe) & Julie Stafford (oboe) at Holsclaw Hall on the UA campus on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 1:00pm. The concert admission is free and there will be a reception for the audience to meet the musicians afterwards.

The program includes a variety of Chinese music from traditional to modern, from original folk tunes to Eastern-Western fusions.  It promises to be a beautiful and unique concert from the “Silk Road,” and one not to be missed!
